Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

This policy describes what data Compute Finance collects when you visit compute.finance, oracle.compute.finance, docs.compute.finance, or use the public API.

01. Who we are

Compute Finance is an independent, pre-incorporation project that operates the compute.finance website and the Compute Price Index (CPI) Oracle. This policy will be updated to name a data controller and a contracting legal entity once one is established. Until then, you can reach us at info@compute.finance for anything relating to your data.

02. Data we collect

Anonymous site analytics

Page views, referrer URLs, country-level location, browser type, and device type. Collected to understand which pages and features are useful. No cross-site tracking and no user-level profiles.

Early-access email signups

If you submit your email through a signup form, we store the address you provided and the date of signup. We use this to send product updates and to notify you when access opens.

Cookies

A small number of cookies for analytics and to remember your cookie-consent choice. Strictly necessary cookies are set by default. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them via the cookie banner.

API request metadata

The public API logs request paths, response codes, and aggregate request counts for operational and security purposes. We do not log request bodies, and we do not associate requests with personal identifiers.

03. What we do not collect

  • No account or wallet identifiers. We have no user accounts.
  • No payment information. The Oracle is free to read.
  • No advertising or behavioural-targeting data.
  • No cross-site or cross-device tracking.
  • No sensitive personal data such as health, biometric, political, or religious information.

05. Third parties

A small number of third-party services are involved in operating the Service. Each receives only the data it needs to perform its function.

  • Hosting provider: serves the website and API.
  • Analytics provider: aggregates anonymous page-view data.
  • Email provider: stores early-access email addresses and sends product updates.

We will name the specific services here once final vendors are confirmed. You can request the current list at info@compute.finance.

06. Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected. Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Anonymous analytics and API logs are retained in line with the defaults of our chosen providers and then aggregated or deleted. Specific retention periods will be stated here once vendors are confirmed.

07. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email info@compute.finance.

For email signups, the unsubscribe link in any email we send is the fastest way to remove your address.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland and believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

08. International transfers

Our hosting, analytics, and email providers may process data outside your country of residence. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by the relevant regulators.

09. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited personal data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the project evolves. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced through the Service. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to info@compute.finance.

The CPI is a public benchmark, not financial advice. Data is sourced from public provider pricing pages, may not reflect negotiated enterprise rates, and does not constitute an offer of any token or security. Compute Finance is independent and not affiliated with any of the providers whose public pricing is tracked in the index.
